In our program reviews, organizational assessments, and strategic planning consultations, K&A assists colleges and universities in translating their vision and ideas into strategy, goals, and objectives – and in implementing their chosen strategies through carefully designed activities, programs, and services that resonate with the institution’s purposes, respond to its context, and emphasize its strengths. K&A understands our role as facilitative and consultative; our expertise is in helping institutions bring forth, clarify, and refine ideas; providing data and information with which institutions can evaluate those ideas; and assisting institutions in assessing resource needs, setting priorities, and determining implementation and communications plans.

Our work has been described as enzymatic: that is, we create the conditions for institutional re-thinking and change, facilitate the processes through which change occurs, and increase the likelihood of successful results. We do that work using the metaphor and meaning of partnership, merging our intellectual and strategic strengths with those of the colleges we serve. Our focus is on creating opportunities through which an institution or organization can advance its purposes within the context of its mission and boundaries of its available resources.
