Dwayne Sackman

Senior Associate, Management & Systems Strategy

Dwayne Sackman, Senior Associate for Management and Systems Strategy, joined K&A in 2004. In his work, he strives to bring a practical perspective and a set of analytical and managerial skills to K&A and its clients. His particular strengths are face-to-face problem solving, negotiation, managing change, mission-based management, and introducing new systems or processes.

Mr. Sackman took his Bachelor's degree in History from Washburn University, and went on to receive an MPA and perform doctoral work at the University of Kansas. He has over thirty years of executive level management experience in finance and operations, and has been a successful team leader and member in numerous government and higher education activities.

In addition, Mr. Sackman possesses extensive experience overseeing and managing financial systems, information systems and technology, physical infrastructure, and in establishing and implementing fiscal and operational policies and goals. In his professional interactions, he frequently interacts with media, faculty, other administrators, educational system leaders, community leaders, legislators, and elected officials; and has led administrative units of as many as 400 staff and managed complex programs with all-sources budgets over $100 million.

Mr. Sackman grew up in Topeka, Kansas, where he attended public school. He has performed volunteer service in a number of organizations, including the Boy Scouts, youth sports, community day care, and his college alumni association. He and his wife Karen have two children, and currently make their home in Madison, Wisconsin. In his spare time, Mr. Sackman enjoys woodworking.
